FIBERGLASS EPOXY TUBING  (CL)

General Purpose Fiberglass Epoxy Tubing

The Alternative to Metal

For more than 40 years Amalga has produced composite tubing as an alternative to metal  tubing.
Constructed of fiber reinforced thermoset epoxy resin, fiberglass epoxy tubing (CL) can be used in a variety of structural applications. The results: A light weight, high strength, corrosion resistant material which replaces carbon steel, chromed steel, stainless steel, aluminum or brass in a wide variety of applications.

 . . . the Better Choice

75% Reduction in Weight.  Fiberglass epoxy tubing reduces material handling and shipping costs. Approximately 1/4 the weight of steel or brass and 3/4 the weight of aluminum, fiberglass epoxy tubing is much easier to handle than traditional metal tubing. Assembly times are reduced and stress loads on component parts are decreased.

Superior Corrosion Resistance. Trouble-free performance in chemical, high moisture and other adverse environments including salt and chlorinated water which results in significant reduction in life cycle costs.

Electrical Insulator. Can be used in applications to prevent the flow of electric current.

Storage Capacity. We can stock products to meet your JIT, MRP, or KAN BAN requirements.

Transparent to x-rays, radio and television transmission. Fiberglass epoxy tubing can be used as a radome because it is not affected by electromagnetic radiation.

Shape Stability and Impact Resistance. Ship, store and cut fiberglass epoxy tubing, it will retain its circular shape. Unlike metals, the product does not dent. Material impact strength is 40 lzod ft-lbs.

Excellent Thermal Stability. With a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, fiberglass epoxy tubing operates efficiently up to 250 °F and customers have reported success in using our product at temperatures below -50 °F.

Non-Magnetic Material. Can be used in magnetic fields without concern of interference. It is ideal for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) applications.
